ORAL PRESENTATION ACTIVITY

Caption: " I was in prison, but I didn`t get any of my tattoos there".

Learn in class:  In class we learnt about tattoos, from the point of view of the people and all the different
types of cultures that use tattoos (maoris and religions) and also we learnt that some people don`t
understand people with tattoos, discriminating them and saying bad words to them.

Information: Tattoos in prison were born in the first built, the people were bored to not do anything all
day low so they start the motivation of the imprisoned to tattoo his body. To the most of them is only for
fashion, but for others are very symbolic.

Source: Taringa.net

Information: Present day, American and Russian prisoners are the most tattooed, and may convey gang membership, codes, or hidden meanings origin criminal dead’s.

There are many different types of tattoos in all the parts of the body, and all symbolize something ( as the snake in the hand).
 Source: Wikipedia

My Opinion: In my opinion, i don't have any problem with the tattoos in prisoners, i think that some of them are very interesting and also i think that every tattoo in a prisoner have a history back.
About the tattoos in general, i think that people couldn't discriminate because don't know what may be (culture or religion) and if it is only for fashion is not his problem.

Opinion Peace

TATTOS
We all have points of view of this things, but sometimes people in the street see a tatto and discriminate at the second, that people maybe have that tatto because a religion, a culture or just for his like, so people cant discrimante.

On the other hand, tattos sometimes can be ugly on my opinion, but i dont have a reason to say   something to the person that haved and persons has to do the same, if you dont like the tatto just keep  silence. In my opinion i like tattos but in some ocations tattos are waste.

Although we can find a lot of reasons that why people tattos his body; we have religion (like the sect 666), culture ( the natives in any part), politic situation (anarchist), or only for art faashion (music rocknroll people, rapers, ect).

Even though the social status of people that have tattos is down, for example i have never seen a person working on apple with a tatto on the face, this happen because the discrimination is everywhere in the hi status and that have to change.

My messeage is simple, in the world always there are going to be persons with a tatto, so if ypu dont like only kepp quiet.

Job Interview

1.- Tell me about yourself

Well, my name is Benjamin Prieto, I am 18 years old, I live in Viña del Mar, in my family we are 8 in total (because my parents are divorced) 5 on my mom's side and 4 on my dad's side. I study in the Mackay school, I want to study engineering and in my free-time I practice surfing, scuba diving, swimming and sometimes I go to run.

3.- What is your greatest strength and your greatest weakness?

Talking about my greatest strengths I'm inspiring, warm and open, i have the ability to stand 3 minutes under the sea, i can surf with waves of 5 meters and i have a great knowledge in science. About my greatest weakness, I can identify only one, I'm scared of Sharks, i know that in chile there are no sharks but when i was child in summer vacations  in Malibu beach in California, USA I was attacked by one making me a big hurt physical and mental and i am attentive about that all the time.

4.- Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

In 5 years i see myself doing my studies of engineering in the university, working in this company as a lifeguard all the summer to save the people, with, hopefully, a girlfriend and improving all my abilities in each thing that i do.

5.- Why do you want to work here?

I want to work here because i don't see enough lifeguards here in this city, also the waves here are so strong with the capacity to drown 5 people at the same time and at the same wave and the people that go to beach don't respect the rules, so we have to stay alert.

7.- Describe a difficult work situation and what you did to overcome it

In the past above 2 years, in a family vacations in the south of chile, there was a child that was drowning because of a sea current so the thing that I do was swim to him take it out of the sea and did all the steps that I said previuosly.

Opinion piece

OPINION PIECE
Traditional medicine, the salvation of the Lung Cancer

Some people use the alternative medicine trying and believing that works on the cure of Lung Cancer, but in my opinion it doesn’t works, traditional medicine; created by the mind of the human, technology and science, is the salvation.

The lung cancer, one of the most dangerous cancer’s of the world (because of his symptoms, such as problems with breath), can´t be cure by alternative medicine, in fact I don´t know any cure by this type of medicine. Today there is no cure to Lung Cancer (a cure that eliminate all the cancer in the lung), but exist treatments that can help to live with the cancer, to live with pain and nuisance and without mental awareness, this treatments are traditional medicine.

We have treatments like: the chemotherapy that in my opinion is a very good treatment but the second’s effects are damage (by way of hair loss), the radiotherapy that as last the seconds effects are not damage but are annoying (tiredness and fatigue), or the bone marrow transplant that don’t have dangerous second effects but it doesn´t works sometimes like the others (addition that is very costly) and is very difficult to do. Sometime people just opt to the surgery.

In the end nothing is perfect, most of this treatments are expensive and difficult to access but are work by the doctors of the traditional medicine and that are we have so we must said thinks to that because de alternative medicine can´t do that.

Lung Cancer

1.- The characteristics of the Lung Cancer are the uncontrolled cell growth in tissues of the long. If this serious problem it`s no treated can be deadly, putting the growth beyond the lung cancer in process called metastasis, and eventually to other parts of the body, as the heart. The most cancers that start in the lung are the Carcinomas that derive of epithelial cells. The main types of lung cancer are: Small-cell lung carcinoma (SCLC, called oat cell cancer) and Non-small cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC). The common cause of the lung cancer is the exposure of tobacco smoke in a long time smoking. The MOST common symptoms of the lung cancer are the coughing (including coughing with blood), problems with breath (because the cancer covers a part of the lung) and wight loss.

2.- Lung cancer is caused by several reasons. The first is the daily cigarette consumption and air pollution. The smoke contains toxic chemicals that are released in the smoke that smokers produce. “The chemicals accumulate in the lungs and eventually cause cell damage”. And also de passive smokers can had a long cancer because the smoke of the smokers is in the air and a passive smoker can inhale and be contaminate. Another Long cancer reason is Endogenous factors, Industrial risks, urban pollution and atmospheric, Scarring: bronchial pathology prior and virus.

4.   The therapies that can be used in lung cancer are generally the  Biological therapy; this therapy can control or stop the growth of cancer cells. This type of Biological therapy can treat the two types of lung cancer (SCLC and NSCLC). The doctors of this treatment use many types of drugs, including: erlotinib (Tarceva), gefitinib (Iressa) and crizotinib (Xalcori). The erlotinib, knowed by his brand name Tarceva, works by blocking particular proteins called epidermal growth factor receptors (EGFR) that works in the cancer cells. The gefitinib has the brand name       Iressa, it also works blocking the epidermal growth factor receptors, the gefitinib is the number 1 treatment recommended to the NSCLC. The crizotinib with the brand name Xalcori, only works helping the advanced NSCLC in people that the cancer cells have an overactive version of a protein called anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK).

5.- The possibilities of recover of the long cancer depends of your grade of your tumour if is really advanced is very difficult to cure, bad if the cancer is “new” you have a big chance of survive. The traditional medicine has a lot of treatment to do de recuperation more possible like pharmaceutical and chemotherapy.

6.-There are no remedies only treatments and surgeries if the cancer is in face 1 (joust beginning) you can make a surgeries but if is in a hire level you have to do like a chemotherapy pre other treatments. That are like the remedies to cure Long Cancer.

7.- The cost have been difficult to measure. The primary obstacle to quantification is the intermittent and long term nature of treatment for this disease. A complete record of expenses cannot usually be obtained from one source, however, a review of all the national health surveys, as well as the Medicare, which is maintained by the Health Care Financing Administration in a format suitable for calculation of cumulative medical expenses . The lifetime cost of treating lung cancer is $ 12.510.

8.- In Chile,  we have the AUGE plan which is a national law N°19.966 for all Chilean to have their health program guaranteed by the Government.

Doctor Sergio Kleinman says that this cancer is not considered in AUGE plan yet, but lung cancer surgery it is covered by the public and private system. The problem are the treatments for lung cancer patients.
In the USA cancer health disparities are not only an economic and medical concern but also a moral and ethical dilemma for the USA-
Many problems such financial and geographic barriers to treatment; ineffective provider patient communication; inadequate screening, and insufficient post treatment and long term follow up can occur in varying combination over time, resulting in increased lung cancer related costs. In the USA, one thing has become clear : social injustice leading to unfair inequities are most part of these problems.
The NATIONAL CANCER INSTITUTE, part of the National Institute of Health and the Department of Health and Human Services, is the Nation´s principal agency for cancer research and coordinates the National Cancer Program.
As a federal agency, NATIONAL CANCER INSTITUTE receives its funds from Congress. The NCI´s busget has been approximately $ 4.9 billion per year.
Other federal agencies, state and local governments, voluntary organizations, private institutions, and industry spend substantial amounts of money trying hard to help cancer patients, their treatments, drugs and others.

Heroin

1.
This drug was recently consumed on 1883 when Heinrich Dreser isolated a new opioid by acetylation of morphine hydrochloride on which received diacetylmorphine a few months later this drug was commercialized and sold by the name of Heroin. This drug was traded by a sedative for the coughs thinking that was less addictive.

2.
First of all, the active component of the effects of the Heroin is the diacetylmorphine. The effects of this drug can be divided on two groups: at central and peripheral level. In general, The Heroine report an intense rush, a hard state of euphoria (which occurs with a chemical process of the diacetylmorphine on the brain), some people believe that Heroin produce more euphoria when it is injected.

3.
Heroin equal death. If you do nothing to get out, you end up dying. In the beginning, you think heroin is your friend, it may seem to help you escape the things and feelings that bother you, but soon, probably even in the first o second try you will need more and more and physical dependence will begin..
You will do anything to get heroin, mostly injected to feel the short nice feeling effect. .This will lead you to change your regular life style and get the dangerous effects.

4.
Afetr the heroin get you high fast and hooked fast the effects will be:
Rush and itching on the body skin, slowed breathing, sedation, nausea and vomiting, weakening of the immune system, contagious infections by sharing the needles, hypothermia, introversion, feeling of panic, mental confution, lost of memory, lost of weith, insomnia, coma and death.
If you get an overdose you will probably die inmediatly.

The Bad things of Alternative Medicine

I choose this type of medicine Because i think that it`s more interesting that the other, i think that we hear about traditional medicine all the days, so know i going to talk about the medicine that we know nothing the alternative medicine.

However, the Alternative Medicine started 5000 years ago in the Chinese traditional medicine,Indian (Ayurvedic medicine) and similar healing traditions in many cultures. This cultures, believes that the energy of the body  has to be on harmony with the mind, body and spirit. A doctor on that time (we don't know of what culture) just facilitated the medicine taking away obstacles that could be dangerous to the body, using Therapy included lifestyle changes, self-care and preventative measures.

Also, the Alternative medicine is a way of medicine that work with health care practices, products and therapies, using methods of medical diagnoses  and treatments. This medicine is not worked and practiced in the degree courses of the medical traditional school, and i think that in one part of traditional medicine has to be included.

In conclussion, the Alternative medicine is a way that you could use only if the Traditional Medicine not works, or if you wants to cure a fiber more quickly you can use Alternative Medicine as an example.
In my opinion i recommend use Alterntive medicine only if you are sure and confident that this Medicine can works, and don't forget that Alternative is a treated medicine.

How to run in a difficult terrain

1.   If you want to run in a difficult terrain the first thing that you will know is that you have to have a good physical condition.

2.    Then, before the run you must have a lot of energy, so you will have to eat noodles and drink water (for hydration before).

3.    Third, prepare your things to the run: put your appropriate clothing and make your backpack to the bullfight. In the backpack you`ll put: a Gatorade, the c2 energy gum, a energy drink, fruit and if is necessary sticks.

4.    After that, you have to decide where you are going to do the run: in the mountain, in a trail or just close to home.

5.    When you decide the place, go to there in car, but when you arrive start walking.

6.    If you start running, go at your own rate, to not get tired after this and during the run try to watch what the nature brings you.

7.    When you finish, at the end of the run you have to stretch, then drink a lot of water or Gatorade, and if it´s cold put it on a diver and a coat.

8.   Then, go to your house and is very important that you must take a shower.

9.   Then, I recommend eat something with proteins, or carbohydrates (to recover your muscles).

10.  After that, you can do something with importance, as study or if it`s evening you have to sleep.

11. It’s very important that you have to sleep after the run, because when you sleep you and  your muscles recover the energy,  and when you and your muscles recover the energy, you can do the activities good at the next day.

Imperialism

WHATS THE IMPERIALISM?

1.

The Imperialism is the creation of a contry`s power and influence trough military force. The Imperialism is considered a negative light, as merely the exploitation of native people tryng to get more power on the other country`s. There are two types of Imperialism:the first is the  "regressive imperialism" identifed with pure conquest, extermination or reductions of undesired people such as Nazi Germany and the secon is "progressive imperialism" that is founded upon a cosmopolitan view of humanity.

2.

During the second phase of the Industrial Revolution, there is the international division of labor among the different nations of the world. This led to the nations were divided between central and peripheral countries. One consequence of this development was the emergence of multinational companies. This, in turn, caused the process of imperialism is seen as a new phenomenon. the Berlin Conference, which territorially divided Africa between the European powers in the years 1884/1885. Among the 14 countries that were at the conference, was given much of the African territory to Britain.
